Pakistan Senate today approved NAB Amendment Bill-2022 after approval in the National Assembly yesterday.
34 clauses of NAB were abolished.
The amendments approved are:
(First Amendment)
All the amendments will come into effect from 1.1.1985 to the benefit of the accused.
(Second Amendment)
The assets of the family members will not be considered as assets of the accused.
(Third Amendment)
NAB has the responsibility to prove the assets as illegitimate. The accused will not be held accountable.
(Fourth Amendment)
The property of the accused will be valued at DC rate instead of market.
(Fifth Amendment)
During the case the accused may sell the disputed property.
(Sixth Amendment)
If the case is not proved, the NAB officer will be punished for 5 years.
